Hundreds of runners rushed to the finish line to take a snapshot of this historic race with their bibs in hand. The Fan Fest was filled with energy.
2014 Boston Marathon champion Meb Keflezighi took photos with the runners. He says this city touched his heart.
“I am just blessed to be a part of this journey. And for me, 2014 was a magical moment. I was on this earth with the aim of inspiring people and I really feel it here, ”Keflezighi said.

“I run for Spirits Matter Boston. It is for children from disadvantaged neighborhoods who are matched with one-on-one mentoring. So it’s like preparing for university, ”said Gilles.
A smaller group of runners and increased safety measures are in place, including a first – a marathon vaccine verification and testing tent.
“It certainly means a lot to runners to be able to do it safely,” said MacNeil. “As a runner it was tough and running got me through the pandemic. So it’s great to be able to leave him on the course and give him everything I have.
And that’s all one can ask of all these runners.
