Celtic link disrespectful Shevchenko | The Celts are there
A report released this morning used Celtic to publish a story about Andriy Shevchenko. We thought we would clarify a few statements from Alan Nixon of SunSport. No disrespect for Alan who has his ear to the ground on many transfer transactions etc, but his latest article is a journalist’s bad guess.
The reporter writes in SunSport:
ANDRIY SHEVCHENKO wants to make a management transfer to Great Britain – and has put Celtic and other clubs on alert.
The 45-year-old also speaks English and has a good knowledge of the domestic game.
His availability has placed him on wishlists and he could be a surprise pick at Celtic’s Scottish heavyweights if Ange Postecoglou doesn’t perform.
The former Australian coach has had a rough start at the Hoops with seven losses in all competitions so far after his late arrival this summer.
We’ve seen Celtic fans comment on this link on social media before and even a Celtic fans media page running with the story.
No one at Celtic has an interest in Andriy Shevchenko at the moment. He is not on a wish list and the club are not actively seeking replacements for the manager.
Angel’s struggles at Celtic have made him a prime target for these kinds of stories and they only serve to disrupt and sow doubt within the medium.
The board knows where we are as a club, mainly because they are the ones who got us to this point through blatant mismanagement – something they won’t admit.
Shevchenko will launch his name there and hope to be linked with all kinds of clubs in Europe in the next period.
Legendary as a footballer, the Ukrainian still has a way to go as a coach – and we can safely say that it won’t be at Celtic.
