LEGAZPI CITY – A former member of the Philippine army was arrested Tuesday during a takeover operation in the city of Naga, in the province of Camarines Sur.

Police chief sergeant Tobias Bongon, spokesperson for Naga Town Police, said Arjay Cadag, 32, a resident of Baao town, was arrested in Barangay (village) Sabang around 3:20 a.m.

Cadag sold a packet of shabu (crystal meth) worth 10,000 pesos to an undercover agent.

Bongon said Cadag had been declared “absent without official permission” from the military since 2016. He was last posted to Sorsogon.

He will face charges for violating the 2002 Dangerous Drugs Act.
