DELHI POLICE CATCH TWO OF WOMEN COMMERCIAL IN BULK DRUG TRAFFICKING,

RECOVERED COMMERCIAL AMOUNT OF PSYCHOTROPIC SUBSTANCE (SMACK) – 618 GRAMS AND CASH RS. 5,87,000/-BY JOINT TEAM AATS/NED AND PS SHASTRI PARK

The special operation “Ankush” launched by the North-East district continues with the aim of combating street and organized crime, deterring criminals/anti-social elements and, most importantly, increasing the feeling of safety of the people. citizens.

As part of the intensive campaign against drug traffickers, special vigilance is maintained in the North Eastern District region.

On 26.09.2022, information regarding bulk drug trafficking in DDA Flats, Shastri Park, Delhi was received, the same has been verified by reliable sources. A police team comprising SI Balbir, HC Vipin, HC Pavit, HC Amit and HC Deepak from AATS/NED and HC Vijay, HC Deepak, HC Sushil and W/Const. Kaushal, under the supervision of ACP/Operations, was assigned to lead the raid.

Using local intelligence, the police team identified the relevant DDA Flat and knocked on the door. A person later identified as Masoom Sheikh S/o Gohar Ali and brother of the owner, responded to the blow. The police team introduced themselves to them and informed the purpose of their arrival. In the meantime, a lady, wife of the owner, present in the house, seeing the group of police officers, immediately ran into a room and locked herself in the room and made a PCR call.

Mr. Sanjay Kumar Sain, IPS, DCP, said, aAfter emptying all the sachets, weighing them on a scale, a total of 618 g of psychotropic substance (smack) was recovered. In addition, 550 Gms. packaging material, including plastic bags (2000 in number used to wrap the smacks in sachets) were recovered. Upon further search, a “lunch bag” containing cash Rs. 5,87,000/- was also found. Upon request, they could not answer the source of the money. Upon further investigation, the land lady revealed that the money from the sale of the drugs must be stored in this bag.

On numerous prosecutions and interventions by the PCR, she opened the door and after following due process of the NDPS Act, the search of the house was carried out in the presence of the CPA/Operations.

Following the search, 20 packets of small sachets filled with brownish/creamy powder were recovered from a black polythene hidden in the room. Upon further counting, each pack contained 100 small sachets totaling 2,000 small sachets.

Mr. Sanjay Kumar Sain, IPS, DCP, said, aAfter emptying all the sachets, by weighing them on a scale, a total of 618 g of psychotropic substance (smack) was recovered. Their identities were established as 38-year-old Masoom Sheikh S/o Gohar Ali and 35-year-old Ms AAA without Md SSS. After verification, said house was found documentary belonging to Mohd. Salauddin S/o Gohar Ali husband of the apprehended lady.

Accordingly, a case under FIR No 777/22 dated 27.09.22 u/s 21/25/29 NDPS Act & 34 IPC, PS Shastri Park, Delhi was filed and an investigation was opened. Sincere efforts to arrest Mohd. Salahuddin and establishing drug supply sources are in progress. Further investigation into the case is ongoing.
