Largo stores arrested for selling alcohol and drugs to underage customers

LARGO, FL — Of 31 businesses receiving a surprise visit from the Largo Police Department, police found that 17 were selling alcohol or tobacco to people under the age of 21.

Using confidential informants under the age of 21, Largo police picked up various convenience stores and tobacco and vape stores around town to see if they were following the law.

Largo police found that almost 60% of stores inspected were non-compliant.

Of the vape/smoke shops police visited, all but one sold to the underage police informant and none asked for identification.

Employees of non-compliant businesses received a summons for selling alcohol or tobacco to a minor.
