The market share gap has narrowed slightly again between the best-selling Juul e-cigarette and RJ Reynolds Vapor Co.’s No.2 Vuse in Nielsen’s latest analysis of convenience store data.
The report covers the four-week period ending October 23.
Nielsen determined that Vuse had a 34.3% market share, up from 33.3% in the previous report.
Meanwhile, Juul was at 40.6%, down from 41% in the previous report.
NJoy was 3.1%, down from 3.3%, while Fontem Ventures’ blu eCigs were unchanged at 2.5%.
Overall, e-cigarette sales increased 0.7% year-over-year in the most recent four-week period.
However, e-cigarette sales volume growth has been declining since Nielsen’s August 10, 2019 report, where it was up 60.2% year-over-year.
Overall e-cigarette sales have fallen since February 2020, when the Food and Drug Administration implemented its latest round of tougher product regulations.
