Chancellor Sharp says Texas has great economic potential
Although Sharp is the chancellor of the A&M college system, he is a native of Placedo and attended Bloomington High School when he was younger. During his speech, he explained the continued economic potential of Texas in the oil and gas field for the years to come through 2050 or 2075. In addition, he also mentioned how the gas will improve the transportation industry of our state.
Sharp still enjoys visiting Victoria
âI am always looking forward to coming back to Victoria, being from Placedo and Victoria County and Bloomington High School. It’s always a special privilege to be invited back here. I think oil and gas, especially gas in the future, is going to be a big part of the Texas economy for a very long time, âChancellor Sharp said.
Director Winfree presented more information on transport
A&M Transportation Institute Director Greg Winfree was another keynote speaker, who presented a power point on beneficial Texas transportation assets. The conference ended around 2:30 p.m., and many attendees stayed behind to pose for photos with Chancellor John Sharp and see him accept a surprise gift from the University of Houston-Victoria.
