SPREAD EAGLE, Wis. – A ribbon-cutting ceremony was recently held to celebrate Xcell Graphics & Signs joining the Dickinson Area Chamber of Commerce.

Xcell Graphics & Signs opened in June 2009. Owner Ryan Doda had six years experience with another sign company that was closing. One of the employees asked Doda if he thought he could make enough banners to pay the bills if he installed a printer in his basement. Doda didn’t think so, but he loved the sign business so much that he decided to keep going and do some extra work if needed.

Since then, Doda has built a garage on her house and moved there. A few years later, he completes a new building that puts him and his employees under one roof.

Doda also specializes in wraps, primarily for commercial fleet vehicles, but they also offer color changes for personal vehicles, custom graphics, and rally or pin stripes. They applied and provided graphics for floors and walls, staying 6 feet apart during applications due to COVID-19.

Doda and her team have completed several large patriotic murals at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain.

When asked what attracted him to the business, Doda replied: “The opportunity to create art and display it all over town. I love walking past and feeling proud of the work we’ve produced. When I started working in this industry nearly 20 years old, I immediately fell in love with this field and found myself looking at other signs in other cities and towns when I traveled, for inspiration. I always learn new things. Once I you think you can’t learn anymore or get cocky in your craft it’s probably time to move on I love what I do I start every morning Monday to Friday at 6am watching from new packaging instruction videos, learn new techniques I completed and passed an Avery Dennison certification program which made me an Avery Certified Installer Many large companies will only use certified installers to apply graphics on their vehicles. It is an incredible privilege to be part of this prestigious program.
